Covington Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church was officially organized in June of 1903.  We are part of the Mississippi Valley Presbytery of the General Synod of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, one of the oldest denominations in America.  (Our denominational name is rather lengthy, so we often use the initials 'A.R.P.')

As A.R.P.'s, our historical roots go back to the country of Scotland.  In the first half of the 18th Century, two distinct groups of Scottish Christians organized.  One group (the Associate Presbytery) sought to assure a more Protestant and democratic church, and the other group (the Reformed Presbytery) maintained that Christ, not the national monarch, was the Head of the Church.  Members of these two groups migrated to America, and in 1782 united to form the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.  Thus, we are a body of believers with over two centuries of Pointing People to Christ.
